Welcome Back, White Rock Eagles!

We hope everyone had a wonderful and restful winter break! We are so excited to see our students back in the halls tomorrow, Monday, January 5th, as we officially kick off the second semester of the 2025-2026 school year!

There is so much to look forward to this spring, and we can’t wait to continue our journey of learning and growth together.

📅 Important Dates & Schedule Reminders

As we settle back into our routines, please keep these upcoming schedule items in mind:
  • Four-Day School Week: Starting this semester, our regular school schedule will be Monday through Thursday.
  • Early Release: Mark your calendars for Thursday, January 8th. Students will be released early at 1:10 p.m. for PLC and District Meetings.
  • MLK Day: There will be no school on Monday, January 19th, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
  • Great Expectations Training: Please note there will be no school on January 23rd and January 30th while our staff participates in Great Expectations training.

📱 Stay Connected: Required Apps

To ensure you never miss an update, please make sure you have the following apps downloaded:
  • ParentSquare: This is our primary tool for school updates, including critical information like school closures due to weather.
  • Sylogist: Use this app to access your child’s grades. The login process is the same one you used to enroll your student at the beginning of the year.

🏫 Growing & Improving Our Campus

We are thrilled to share some exciting upgrades to our school grounds! To better serve our students and families, we have recently installed:
  • A New Bus Loop & Walking Track: Providing a safer and more efficient way for students to arrive and stay active!
  • New Track & Field Facilities: Our students can now practice for the upcoming season with our brand-new long jump and shotput areas.

📝 Attendance & Academic Success

Consistent and timely attendance is essential for your child to reach their full potential. When students aren't in class, they miss out on critical learning opportunities.

  • Strict Attendance Policy: We will be strictly enforcing our attendance policy this semester.
  • The 10-Day Rule: State law mandates that once a student misses 10 days in one semester (excused or unexcused), the school must report the matter to the District Attorney.
  • Every Minute Counts: Tardiness and early pick-ups impact learning time.
  • **Elementary: Missing more than 10 minutes at the start or end of the day results in a half-day absence.
  • **Middle School: Missing 10 minutes of a class counts as a full absence for that period.
  • State Testing Prep: With state testing approaching this spring, being in class every day is vital to ensure our students are prepared and confident.

✨ A Great Expectations School

White Rock is proud to be a Great Expectations school. This means we are committed to creating a positive school climate, developing strong student character, and maintaining high academic standards. Our teachers regularly attend specialized training to bring the best instructional practices into the classroom to help your child succeed.

We are looking forward to a fantastic second semester!
